WATERJET CUTTING SYSTEM
INTENSIFIER PUMP UNIT
The high pressure intensifier unit is furnished with an automatic slow start electrical control system that will eliminate pressure spikes when the system is started.
The Intensifier is mounted on a structural steel frame. This frame is acoustically insulated, has four access doors, and encloses a 35 gallon resoervoir together with a pressure compensated pump and other components required to provide hydraulic power to the Intensifier.
The high pressure cylinder has grease fittings installed in the packing flange that requires lubrication every 24 hours of operation. This will extend the operational life of the seals to last approximately 750 to 1000 hours. Without lubrication, they will last approximately 500 hours. Usually one pump from a grease gun per cylinder is all that is required.
INTENSIFIER CONTROLS
The Intensifier controls are all automatic after they have initially been set. The maximum operating discharge pressure should be set with zero flow through the nozzles. It should be 3,000 psi higher than the desired operational pressure, but no higher than 50,000 psi. This is done by adjusting the pressure compensator that is located on the underneath side of the hydraulic pump.
