010 Cut 1" bar stock to about 6.25".
020 Mount the bar in the lathe and center drill the end.
030 Using the lathe, drill out the 15/64" center hole.
040 Use a facing operation to square the end of the bar.
050 Score the bar from the faced end to a length of 6".
050 Reverse the bar in the lathe and face the other end to
the total length of 6".
060 Use a #19 drill to cut the start for the two threaded
holes at the base of the bar.
070 Use a #29 tap to thread the two holes to a depth of 3/8".
080 Using the lathe, turn the top end of the bar to a diameter
of .503", and a depth of 1/2".
090 Turn the first groove at the top to a diameter of 3/4",
and 1/4" width.
100 Using the lathe with a 1/4" wide tool, cut the remaining
five grooves in the bar at the proper locations.
110 Deburr grooves if necessary.
120 Polish the remaining outside surface with sand paper or
a light turning operation.
