This web page is an excellent source for information on the topic of catia. It offers many options including how to purchase catia software, education relating to catia and contacts for sales information, etc. Also, it lists the most recent headlines that involve catia as well as new versions or options of catia that are up and coming.
http://www.coe.orgIn my opinion this was a very useful web site for the catia user. It is a place where you can go and post questions regarding catia and other people referencing the web page can offer their knowledge on each topic to hopefully help you with the situation. Also, people using the page can post new and interesting things that they have found within catia for the other users to try out.
http://www.catia.comThis web page was the actual home page for catia and offered a lot of the same information that was found on the catia/ibm page. However, the information here was related directly to catia software and programs. It offered an overview of the customers using catia within each industry as well as a very good description and list of improvements for the new version (Catia v5.0).
http://www.appliedcae.com/The applied cae web page was also very useful for the catia user or someone interested in buying a catia workstation. Within the page there were links for new jobs within cae, product information for catia and sun microsystems as well as news and services for catia.
http://www.catjn.com/The last web site that was visited was strictly dedicated to postings for jobs using catia. The site would allow you to do a couple of things; 1. Post openings and 2. Read the postings. It is a great site to visit if you are considering a job change because you could specify the area you would like to live in as well as get a description of the type of work and benefits that were available before you contacted anyone specifically about an opening.
In summary, I thought there was a good deal of information found on the worldwide web relating to the topic of catia. It seemed that there was a site dedicated to many different areas of catia whether it was a job related to it, product information, sales inquiries or lessons learned that was a place to go to find information relevant to that topic.
In order to find the web sites listed above, three different search engines were used; Excite, Lycos and Netscape. Below is a summary of each search engine.
Excite- Found a lot of information pertaining to the topic, but didn’t present the web pages very well. It basically posted the web page without any description, just a list of the web sites and a percent match to the search topic. It did however, offer a directory showing where the information was found. Excite also offered free e-mail and a personalized web page.
Lycos- This was probably my favorite browser. It would find a large number of web sites related to your topic and split them into three categories when it presented them to you. It offered popular web sites which was based on web page traffic of visitors, a list of other web sites as well as articles that were found relating to your topic. Also, with each web site was a description of the information that could be found on that site. Lycos also offered free e-mail and a personalized web page.
Netscape- This search engine was similar to Lycos, but didn’t have as many options. It would list the related web sites and give descriptions of each, listed in two separate categories. E-mail and a personalized web page was offered through netscape.
