As a student of the Grand Valley State University Honors College I have
had the unique experience of taking challenging classes that
encourage good writing style and offer exposure to the liberal arts aspect
of academics. One class that I have completed was a four semester
journey through the history, philosophy, literature, and art of Europe. Some
topics I have written about include the evolution
of church architecture
and a comparison of two of Botticelli's paintings
of St. Augustine. I also was able to attend a class that studied
the moral and historical perspectives
of the Holocaust. In it, I was able to study the history of Anit-Semitism and gain exposure
to many of the horrible crimes committed against the Jews.
