Engineering 501 Contemporary Engineering Computer Tools Introduction to computer usage in engineering. Focus is on contemporary computer tools and methods widely used in the practice of engineering. Topics include Internet communication and research, creation of written reports and presentations, performing mathematical analysis, manipulating and evaluating data. EGR 501 is an accelerated background course offered in the first-half of the semester for the Master of Engineering Science program at Grand Valley State University. The Padnos School's common set of computer applications are introduced and applied to a variety of problems that review fundamental principles from mathematics, physics and engineering. The prerequisite is a bachelor's degree in some field of engineering or physical science with appropriate math, physics and engineering courses. The course is offered in the fall and winter semesters.
