43.1 CLEANING AND DEGREASING

 

· Various methods remove contaminants

  1. - Chemical degreasing - removes chemicals and prepares surfaces
  2. - Solvent degreasing - contaminants dissolve in a solvent bath
  3. - Vapor degreasing - the solvents are sprayed or vaporized to dissolve contaminants
  4. - Ultrasonic cleaning - a cleaning solution is used with ultrasonic vibrations
