What are these things?

These are manuscripts for books that I am using for teaching classes. These began as course notes to supplement inadequate textbooks. But since then I have expanded them to replace the text books. You are free to use these as outlined by the license above. My main reason for using a license is to prevent a publisher from profiting from it. Individuals and academic uses are encouraged to use it. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions (email me).
