The Music So anyone that really knows me at all knows that I love music, it makes my world go 'round, and without it I don't know whtat I'd really do. If you think about it, music is the soundtrack to all of our lives. Everyone has songs that just blow them up when they hear them. You all know who you are. You're ridin along in the car and a song comes on that just makes you go crazy and just turn it up like 2 or 7 notches. It's the stuff we turn to when we're happy, when our hearts get broken in two, when it's time to party, or when we just want to be alone and disappear for a while. Without music in our lives, things would be pretty dull and boring. This love in part comes from an upbringing where both of my parents were musically inclined and involved in the arts. I began playing the piano at about 6 years old and played for a few years. Various recitals and playing for family members at Christmas later, I gave it up as I lost the enjoyment. Band was all through middle and high school and I played trombone, baritone, and a little trumpet. I picked up a guitar for the first time at age 13 and have been playing ever since. It's become my escape and release for the rigors of my everyday engineering student life. So mostly, I just want to put up some links for you all to check out with an open mind. I listen to a lot of punk and emo, a lot of rock, and a wealth of other things. I've become a bit of a closet country fan lately too, much to my dismay. But I find more and more that I fall in love with music I relate to lyrically. The links will come soon as there will be a multitude and I don't have time right now as it's time to study for a test. |
